Internationally acclaimed Canadian Artist Heather Kocsis captures the essence of life and untold stories bound within the walls of Architecture historically through time. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with Honours from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, with a thesis in printmaking, Kocsis developed her current process of art making.
I have participated in many shows where the context is outside of a typical gallery setting. These public shows have granted me exposure to a more diversified audience and I have had the privilege of interacting with many of my viewers. The feedback I received contained a common articulation: there was a shared affinity for the fact that my subject matter was of older buildings built with simple materials – wood, brick, and stone.
